Amarillo Civic Center Complex
Home CivicCenterBag Policy FAQ
Why did the Amarillo Civic Center Complex adopt this policy?
The clear bag policy is about safety and improving the overall guest experience. Many sporting and entertainment facilities have implemented similar policies, and this has become an industry standard. The clear bag is easily and quickly searched, reducing faulty bag searches while allowing guests to move through security at a faster pace.
How many bags can each person bring into the Amarillo Civic Center Complex?
One approved clear bag, either a one-gallon Ziploc style bag or a 14" x 14" x 6" clear bag, plus a small clutch. All approved bags, including clear bags, are subject to search.
Is the clear bag policy in place for all events at the Amarillo Civic Center Complex?
The clear bag policy is in place for all events ticketed through Panhandle Tickets, including all hockey, arena football, soccer games symphonies, ballets and opera performances. Enforcement for all other non-ticketed events or events that are ticketed through a third party will be at the discretion of the event promoter. While we strongly encourage that all patrons adhere to this policy for all events to help promote safety and consistency, please refer to the event page of the event you are attending for the very latest information.
How can I get into a ticketed event at the Amarillo Civic Center Complex even faster?
We’re glad you asked! The Amarillo Civic Center Complex strongly discourages guests from bringing unnecessary bags or items into the venue. Remember that weapons of any kind are also not permitted into the building, especially pocketknives. Leaving these things at home will help make lines move faster. Whenever possible, we open no-bag lines to allow even quicker entrance into events.
Are diaper bags allowed?
Diaper bags fall under the restrictions of our new bag policy. The bag must be a clear bag and follow the guidelines on our bag policy page.
Are there any exceptions to our bag policy?
Any bag that is being used for medical related items, or in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act is exempt from this policy. This would include medications or medical equipment, such as breat pumps, oxygen pumps, or any medical monitors.
